When you have completed your build and you are ready to register your caravan or trailer with the State Road Authority, they will require the tare weight of the caravan to go on the Compliance Plate. The mass detailed on the weighbridge ticket will need to be the trailer only with the jockey wheel down on the weighbridge and tow vehicle detached and moved forward off the weighbridge. You should also ensure for this task that
- the water tanks are empty
- all standard features included with the van are fitted
- but none of your luggage is included
